This show goes to show how sometimes overly sensitive men can be pathetic. Take Vicente, for instance; he is so out of it. He cannot see clearly; his mind is clouded with thoughts of Fernanda, who humiliates, rejects, and uses him every chance she gets. I am sorry to say this, but he lacks dignity and self-worth. I know it’s a show, but I just had to say it.

After so many years I have finally relived my favorite childhood telenovela. It was as beautiful as I remember it and the final episode never fails to make me cry my goodness this is such amazing artistry. Miguel and Fabiola will always be my favorite couple and Bernardo my favorite villain.

Peralta is a total idiot for being with Emma after she falsely accused him of rape. When I watched this years ago, my young mind convinced myself that this was romantic but this is so horrific. Yikes…
Fernanda had the potential to be an exciting villain, but all that pining and desperation towards Juan Marcos just makes her pathetic. I understand the motive behind her revenge is emotional and very personal but come onnnnnnn. Get over it or just kill him already! Also funny how she tells Isabel how desperate she looks by being clingy, but she’s the definition of the word.
On episode 18 and I just realized how overly trusting Violetta is e.g. her Dad and the way she cozied up to Fernanda so quickly (literally just met the lady and she’s GUSHING). Such a contrast to Genesis who clearly did not take to Fernanda and even sensed the bad vibes off of Pamela. I was going to look at it as a reflection of their upbringing – Angela never giving Violetta a reason to distrust her, and thus all kinds of authority- but Genesis, while having a difficult relationship with her mother, had a great Dad. A married man starts flirting with his daughter’s bodyguard from the very first meeting, the icing on the cake is that the bodyguard also flirts with him knowing that he has a family. How the girl is facing the domestic violence of her ex-husband, that too being a bodyguard, what a great introduction of the main actors!

I agree that the beginning was sketchy and the wife was sometimes not treated right BUTTTT the wife was being ridiculous to the bodyguard and the couple was having issues already, he wanted to divorce her I think in ep1 or 2 but she manipulated him into not going through with it, and the bodyguard did not LET herself get abused, she defended herself and at that time, she wasn’t a bodyguard yet so her skills were basic compared to her husband’s, who was a thug, so, NO, this series is not ridiculous.
