They’re stretching the truth here quite a bit. Thailand is not like the US or Europe. Foreigners are not allowed to own property other than a condo, let alone a hotel. They’re only allowed to work in very few jobs. They have to leave the country every 90 days, then come back again (visa runs). Retirees must prove to have a high level of pension to stay there. In Thailand everything is geared toward exploiting the naive unsuspecting (white) foreigners. A lot of them found out the hard way.
