The movie was inspired by Sait Faik Abasıyanık’s book by the name of “Medar-ı Maişet Motor”, published for the first time in 1952. In Sait Faik’s book, the life stories of Ali Rıza, Berber Dimitryi, Ali Rıza’s daughter Melek and Fahri are told.
